Lincoln County Medical Center debuted nuclear medicine technology designed to diagnose patients with a variety of health conditions and keep care close to home.
On Jan. 19 Ruidoso resident Dennis Lukehart was the first patient to have a cardiac nuclear medicine stress test at Lincoln County Medical Center (LCMC) using the new technology.
“This is a great piece of equipment for people that have heart issues,” Lukehart said. “I was very appreciative that the hospital has that type of equipment and that we have a cardiologist here. It’s very comforting.”
The system is used to assess joint or bone pain, gastric issues and blood flow to the heart and lungs, among other conditions.
