Lincoln County Medical Center receives the Joint Commission's "Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®” Accreditation

Release Date:

November 15, 2013
RUIDOSO, N.M. – Lincoln County Medical Center (LCMC) was named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® this month by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America.

This is the second year in a row that LCMC has been recognized as a Top Performer for its success in using evidence-based clinical processes to improve care. This year, LCMC was recognized for its achievements in improving pneumonia and surgical care.

“Everyone continues to do an outstanding job following care protocols and maintaining safety standards as defined by The Joint Commission,” said Patsy Parker, RN, MSN, Director of Patient Care Services. “We understand that safe, effective care is what matters most to our patients and members.”

LCMC is one of 1,099 hospitals in the U.S. to earn this distinction for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance. The ratings are based on a combination of accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the 2012 calendar year.

“This accreditation recognizes the commitment that Lincoln County Medical Center has made to improving the quality and safety of care it provides to the residents of Ruidoso and surrounding communities,” said Al Santos, LCMC Administrator.

The Joint Commission’s Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® program is intended to be an incentive for all hospitals to improve the quality and safety of the care they provide. This program is also a way to provide transparency to the public.

An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 20,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
