Lincoln County personnel received the first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine on December 18.
Registered nurse Chelsea Kimbrell was among a group of three to be the first to receive the vaccine. Kimbrell, who is employed in the OB department, said receiving the vaccine enables her to safely do her job and protect her family and friends.
"It was actually kind of exciting," Kimbrell told the Ruidoso News. "It's this historic thing worldwide and for our community, so the fact that we were able to receive it in our little hospital is huge for us."
